Description:
The HDBaseT Alliance advances and promotes the adoption of HDBaseT technology as the global standard for ultra-high-definition, digital connectivity. Since its founding in 2010 by LG Electronics, Samsung Electronics, Sony Pictures Entertainment, and Valens, the Alliance has brought together the leading names in the consumer electronics, professional AV, industrial and automotive sectors, and it counts today with more than 180 members and thousands of products.

Valens' HDBaseT Automotive combines the best of alternative existing technologies into one, simple solution for in-vehicle connectivity, to address the needs of today’s & tomorrow’s connected cars. The HDBaseT Automotive 5Play feature set revolutionizes in-vehicle connectivity with the convergence of high-speed data applications (e.g. uncompressed audio & video), high-speed data applications (e.g. Ethernet, USB, PCIe), controls and power over a single channel (single-pair UTP cable).

About the session: This session will focus on Valens’ ability to provide effective and efficient communication within the car. We will cover topics such as physical, link, networking and App layers, software and EMC.

We will present a range of challenges facing the connected car, including the need for increased bandwidth, cabling weight & complexity, EMC, latency and scalability, and demonstrate how HDBaseT Automotive addresses and overcomes these challenges.

The session will include a presentation of use cases pertaining to Infotainment, Telematics, ADAS and networking. We will demonstrate the ultimate benefits of simplified in-vehicle connectivity, including high bandwidth, advanced networking topologies and a highly robust mechanism for addressing EMC.

We will present Valens’ products and roadmap, to be followed by an introduction to the HDBaseT standard, the HDBaseT Alliance and the Automotive Working Group. We will conclude the session with a live HDBaseT demo session.

Who should attend: Engineers and Technicians looking to learn more about the HDBaseT Automotive solutions, and its ability to offer the connectivity needed to address current and future automotive advanced applications (connected car, autonomous driving). The session is relevant for beginners and more advanced professionals alike, as it will cover all the basics of HDBaseT technology, as well as dive into the intricacies of capabilities and features.

What attendees learn: Background knowledge about the HDBaseT technology standard and how it applies to in-vehicle connectivity. You will gain expertise on the innerworkings of HDBaseT Automotive from the physical to app layers, software and EMC, and you will experience first-hand through a live demo HDBaseT capabilities, and how they affect in-vehicle connectivity.

Cost:  FREE, registration is required to hold your seat.
