With network traffic increasing 40% annually, transmission technologies must be developed that can expand channel capacity to accommodate this tremendous increase in demand. PAM4 encoding offers the advantage of doubling the bit rate in a serial data channel without increasing the signal bandwidth, by increasing the number of voltage levels from two to four. It's a fairly complex modulation scheme, so it should be no surprise that it presents some test and measurement challenges.

Teledyne LeCroy’s PAM4 Signal Analysis package meets these needs by leveraging industry-leading multi-level eye, jitter and noise analysis capabilities to provide the industry’s only solution for complete characterization of PAM4 signals.

This seminar will explore the fundamentals of PAM4 signaling and Teledyne LeCroy’s PAM4 Signal Analysis package. We will analyze the PAM4 signal by measuring the eye closure in voltage and time, predicting the closure as a function of BER, and decompose the jitter and noise into deterministic and random components using algorithms customized for PAM4 signaling.

Teledyne LeCroy Field Applications Engineer

*Lunch will be served after the seminar
