Jitter can manifest as instability in signal period, frequency, phase, duty cycle, or other timing characteristics. Jitter is a subject of keen interest to the Automotive electronics industry, particularly those working in applications that involve digital data, clocks, and serial data.
 
Jitter can impact reliability, manufacturability, and cost at all levels, by creating short-term variations of a signal with respect to its ideal position in time. It's of interest from pulse to pulse, over many consecutive pulses, or as a longer-term variation.
 
This class will explore ways to Capture, View, Measure and Analyze Jitter using tools in your lab.

  • Modern measurement techniques with TIE
  • Using test gear to visualize and Measure Jitter
  • Examples or case studies of Jitter measurements
  • Todays Analysis tools
  • Statistical views of Jitter to determine longevity of design
