Abstract: HDMI 2.1 introduces 8K video resolutions to the consumer video industry. These new higher resolution formats are supported through a new transport protocol: Fixed Rate Link (FRL) transmission. Fixed Rate Link transmission simplifies the link layer by limiting the data rates across the HDMI link and adds new protocol structures and elements.
This informative seminar will discuss these new structures and protocol elements related to HDMI 2.1 Fixed Rate Link (FRL) transmission. Attendees will learn the details of both FRL link training and FRL transmission protocols and Packetization. Real world captures of HDMI FRL protocol streams will be used to illustrate the operation of the FRL protocol.
Who Might Benefit: HDMI product developers in R&D Labs and Test Engineers responsible for verifying the FRL devices.
