09:00AM – 10:00AM Five Tips for power integrity debug
The power rail of a device is like the blood flow of the circuit. Analyzing the signature of the voltage rail and its noise tells a lot about the health of the circuit. In this lecture/demo, I will demonstrate five techniques you can use with any real time scope to analyze the power rail and uncover common problems in the design and interpretation of the power rail. If you deal with power integrity, this session is for you.

10:15AM – 11:15AM Mastering the TDR in 1 hour
The Time Domain Reflectometer (TDR) is the workhorse instrument to characterize the impedance profile of any interconnect, either single-ended or differential. With a few simple principles, we can understand what the instrument does and how to interpret its measurements. In this lecture/demo, I will introduce you to the operation of the TDR and show many examples that illustrate why this is such a powerful instrument to open a window into the impedance profile of interconnects such as cables, PCB interconnects and connectors. If you use a TDR, touch measured TDR data or care about characteristic impedance, this session is for you.
