Nowadays, TDRs are used for very accurate instantaneous impedance measurements. In the past, they were used only as fault locators. One of the factors that made the difference is calibration, but, even today, not all TDRs can be calibrated. Teledyne LeCroy's TDRs are calibrated. And we, not surprisingly, can accurately measure impedances that are very different from 50 Ohms. Are you familiar with OSTL calibration and how easy is it to perform with a TDR?
Topics to be covered in this webinar:
- Why is TDR so useful to signal integrity engineers?
- Why is calibration so important?
- Characteristic impedance and input impedance are different
- What is the measurement accuracy for characteristic impedances very different from 50 Ohm ?
Who should attend? Hardware Engineers who use a Vector Network Analyzer (VNA) and/or a Time Domain Reflectometer (TDR) and who are measuring cables, connectors, backplane and high-speed serial data single-ended and differential transmission lines on PCBs.
What attendees will learn: To get the best understanding and insight when using TDRs.
Presenter: Giuseppe Leccia, Business Development Manager , T3 High Value & High-speed Interconnect Analysis, Teledyne LeCroy
