Testing USB-C Linear Re-Driver Active Cables (LRD)
In this webinar we will focus on how to properly power up the cable and use a time-domain approach to test USB-C / USB Type-C cables that use linear redriver signal conditioning. Passive USB-C cables are limited in length to ensure signal integrity requirements are met, requiring active cables with linear redrivers (LRD) for long length USB 3.2 or USB4 signal transmissions.
Topics to be covered in this webinar:
- Limitation in length of USB passive cables
- USB active cable technology
- Frequency domain and time domain testing approach
- Basic wiring and e.marker read testing
- Eye diagram and insertion loss (cable gain) measurements
Who should attend? Production and Quality Assurance Engineers, Vendor Quality Engineers, Incoming Inspection Teams, or System Reliability Engineers at companies that are using USB-C active cables.
What attendees will learn: USB-C active cable comprehensive testing and how to measure quality levels and determine root cause of failures.
