Protocol Analysis Basics
In this webinar, you will learn about protocol basics. We will not be focusing on any specific protocol but the protocol stack will be explained based on the ISO model. You will learn about Packet, and the different layer types like Transfer and Transaction layers. Solving problems in the different layer types and High-Speed Serial Data can be easy if you have the right tool to check each layer. But which is the right one to identify the problem? It starts with the first problem, to find out where the problem is located. Is it a physical layer or protocol layer problem? We will introduce you to the different tools for each layer and why a Logic Analyzer is not a good tool to debug Serial Data Busses.
Finally, we will give you some information about Compliance Testing and why you should consider getting your development certified according to the protocol specification. This webinar gives you a good overview about the protocol basics and is meant for those who have just started to explore protocols more in-depth, or are looking for a solution to a problem in this area. In case you are already developing in a defined high-speed protocol like PCie or USB, this webinar is also a good starting point to understand the hierarchical structure of these busses.
