NVMe Copy and Storage Tags
OakGate Technologies introduces expanded support for the NVMe Copy command family within its Enduro platform, covering standard Copy, Cross-Namespace Copy (CNC), Fast Copy (FCO), metadata-enabled operations, and namespace-format compliance.
The Exerciser supports Descriptor Formats 0h, 1h, and 2h; randomized source-range generation; concurrent source-namespace traffic; PI checks for metadata-enabled namespaces; and FCO control. Cross-namespace Copy is validated across both matching and corresponding namespace-format configurations.
All Copy and CNC operations integrate with Enduro’s data-validation engine to ensure end-to-end verification of destination data and metadata correctness.
OakGate provides a UNH-IOL–aligned Scripted Test library covering feature enablement, descriptor validation, namespace-format rules, fast-copy enforcement, and error-path behavior. This enables SSD developers to apply UNH coverage inside a consolidated test workflow and platform, reducing SSD qualification time.

- Automation Performance Reports can automatically produce L0, L0s, and L1/L1.x percentage-over-time graphs for long-duration or suite-based regression testing.
Why ASPM Test Coverage Matters
As SSD vendors optimize for hyperscale and AI-centric workloads, power-state correctness has become as important as IOPS performance. Poorly tuned firmware can lead to:
- Excessive idle power draw
- Latency spikes during exit from L1/L1.x states
- Link stability issues during aggressive power-management transitions
- Inconsistent behavior across different host platforms or PCIe switch configurations

Active State Power Management (ASPM) behavior has become a critical part of modern NVMe SSD design, particularly as vendors work to reduce idle power without sacrificing responsiveness or link stability. With data centers pushing aggressive efficiency targets, device makers increasingly need deterministic ways to verify link-power behavior across L0, L0s, L1, and the deeper L1.1/L1.2 substates.
Teledyne LeCroy has expanded its ASPM test and analytics capabilities within the Enduro platform, enabling SSD developers to validate these power states with greater precision and automation.
Integrated ASPM Configuration and State Control
Enduro provides direct UI-level controls for enabling device-supported ASPM states without requiring external tools or manual –workflows. Users can selectively activate L0s, L1, L1.1, and L1.2, and Enduro automatically re-applies these settings after each device reset. This ensures consistent test conditions across long or repeated validation cycles.
Real-Time LTSSM Monitoring
The platform’s LTSSM Monitoring interface delivers time-resolved visibility into link-state transitions during test execution. Stacked-area charts track the distribution of L0, L1, and deeper L1.x substates in real time, allowing engineers to observe how workloads, resets, hot-plug events, and power-management policies affect the PCIe link. For dual-port devices, separate views for primary and secondary paths allow symmetric-port analysis during enterprise validation.
Exerciser and Automation Integration
ASPM analysis is tightly integrated with both the Exerciser and Automation engines:
- Timed LTSSM Polling automatically starts and stops with the test run, capturing state distributions across L0/L0s/L1/L1.x without manual intervention.
- Post-Run Analytics generate time-based charts illustrating how active I/O workloads influence ASPM behavior.
