Security has become increasingly important as platform firmware components have become a new area for cyber-attacks. Consequently, SSD integrity is quickly becoming of vital importance in ensuring compute infrastructure is secure.
Previous efforts to secure computing systems via software traditionally focus on the operating system and application levels. In contrast, the Security Protocol and Data Models (SPDM) specification tackles firmware level security challenges, which are much harder to detect with regular protection software. SPDM includes key features like enabling peripheral authentication, authenticated hardware measurements retrieval, and secure session establishment.
Our integrated SVF/Enduro software security feature set supports SPDM over transport layers SMBus/I2C, PCIe VDM and Data Object Exchange (DOE). The software let users execute built-in security flows utilizing SPDM, DOE and send/receive mailbox commands.
Additionally, SVF/Enduro provides additional security tests for Trusted Computing Group (TCG) and includes Teledyne LeCroy’s patented Memory Fencing technology.

Memory Fencing enables the host to detect functional errors that occur when a device with a Direct Memory Access (DMA) engine accesses memory space outside of the area specified by the device driver. The technology can detect system hacking, unauthorized memory access, and malware.
